There’s something quietly powerful about choosing simplicity—about letting nature, intention, and connection lead the way. A Nachi Falls elopement offers just that: a setting where the sacred and the scenic come together in perfect harmony.
An Intimate Ceremony Among Ancient Cedars
This couple didn’t choose a traditional wedding. Instead, they followed a path few take; one lined with ancient cedar trees, soft shadows, and the quiet magic of the Japanese forest. At the base of the sacred Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route, on the moss-covered stone steps of Daimonzaka, they stood together, just the two of them. No guests. No fanfare. Only the rustle of the trees and the soft cadence of their vows echoing through the woods.
The Sacred Beauty of Nachi Falls
After their forest vows, they continued deeper into the mountains to witness the tallest waterfall in Japan: Nachi Falls. Towering at 133 meters, it crashes down a sheer rock face with a force that humbles even the loudest thoughts. Nearby, the brilliant red pagoda of Seiganto-ji Temple and the sacred grounds of Kumano Nachi Taisha create one of the most iconic scenes in Japan. It’s not just breathtaking—it feels sacred. Standing in front of it, they didn’t need words.
Where Love Meets the Wild Ocean
As their Nachi Falls elopement unfolded, the day took one last magical turn. They traveled to Hashiguiiwa Rocks in Kushimoto, where dramatic rock formations rise from the ocean like ancient pillars. Beneath the moody, rain-filled sky, the rugged coastline took on an almost otherworldly beauty. With the sound of waves surrounding them, the couple shared a quiet moment together, embracing the wild and untamed beauty of Japan’s coast.
This kind of elopement isn’t for everyone, but if it speaks to your soul, there are other beautiful options too. You might be drawn to a shrine elopement in Tokyo or one of our custom Japan Elopement packages. Either way, we’re here to help you find the place that feels just right.

You don’t need to have a plan to get started. Get in touch here to check availability and schedule a complimentary planning consultation. We’ll help you plan a wedding in Japan that's all about the two of you — and the adventure of a lifetime.
Photography and cinematic videography travel is included for most locations accessible by standard public transportation or commercial flights, giving you the freedom to consider many meaningful locations across Japan without worrying about separate travel arrangements.
An album design credit is included and applied toward a custom-designed wedding album. The design process is handled in-house, with thoughtful pacing and layout, and priority given to Signature and Multi-Day couples. You’re free to decide later whether you’d like to move forward with the album or explore additional options.
Coverage focused on real moments, atmosphere, and how the day feels — not staged performance or forced timelines. Our couples are real people like you and we know how to help you feel comfortable and look natural on camera without posing or pressure.
Hair & makeup, kimono support, officiant services, and cultural elements are coordinated through a trusted core team and long-standing partners, with broader coordination across styling, guest needs, and experience-related services — with services added as needed, and everything managed calmly behind the scenes.
We guide you through what’s possible in Japan, what actually works well, and what fits your priorities — including handling of all access, privacy, and permits.
We plan the day so it works even if weather, crowds, or conditions change. You don’t need to make hard calls on the day or worry about “what if” scenarios — those are handled in advance.
Aside from our published photography and cinematic videography, you’re supported throughout the day — not just photographed. The day is actively guided and coordinated on-site, with logistics, timing, and decisions handled as they arise. Behind the scenes, real-time support from our office team ensures everything stays on track, so nothing feels rushed, stressful, or left to chance.
